I’ll probably get it anyway, I do want to see the happy bits. Amazon.co.uk has a release date of sometime in January, I think, for the DVD, I haven’t seen a US release date.
There’s always eBay.
As for Whitechapel being canceled, I’d thought about starting that but it just doesn’t sound appealing.
Whitechapel is odd. It varies so much between series even what format it takes and then it seemed like when they finally decided to stick with a format they then felt like chucking in the supernatural (or not) stuff and made it even more odd. I am really not surprised it was cancelled after that last series.
I only really like series 1 and 3. Series 1 was the best though and still probably the best take on Jack the Ripper I’ve seen even though it’s not directly about him. (Chandler and his relationship with Miles are pretty adorable throughout though).
Mmm - series 2 is just annoying. I really like series 3, but that’s probably because I have a fascination with the Ratcliffe Highway murders.
The last series was a bit silly in comparison, with all the supernatural stuff.
Jesus Christ. How fecking gorgeous is this man? Not only has he the looks of an Adonis, he is an unbelievably gifted actor, *and* he is the only celeb I’ve ever heard of to be thrown out of his own party…
Saw this today, and I have to say that I am stunned by the reviews which said it was boring, second rate, “the worst film ever made” etc.
It was a little slow getting going, and some of the monologues were a little - one might even say - pretentious. But once the plot opened up, it was an exhilarating, nail-biting, terrifying, at times horrific ride.
Everyone in it turned in amazing performances - even the tiny parts turned in by John Leguizamo and Toby Kebbell.
I loved it. No, that’s not right. I hated it, not because it was bad, but because it splurged out, in graphic and horrible detail, the evil that men do.
Anonymous asked: I invite you to compare photos from the BAFTA tea to those from the premiere. That's not just lighting. Initial swelling and bruising from a nose job will go down within the first two weeks. At this point, what could be almost two months (since the NY Moves shoot), the nose will remain "puffy". His nose actually appears a bit wider tonight than it has in the past.
I’m sorry but his nose doesn’t look wider to me and the puffiness he’s had, either from actual lack of sleep or reaction to the extensive Thorin makeup. I can’t be persuaded otherwise.
I think his nose looks the same. I think the lightning has something to do with it. Also some actors wear makeup to events. This could be the case as well. I am not looking to start a debate, but I think his nose is the same. Also his face is thinner now because he seems to have lost some weight. So the only thing I noticed was his teeth are whiter and he looks tanner. Other than that nose appears the same.
Yes! Thank you Liliana! Totally forgot about him thinning out and that affecting the shadows and lines around his nose. This really shouldn’t be a debate…I was just hoping to help people out that were questioning the one photo, and suddenly I’m the middle of Nosegate ;)
With all due respect to Nonny’s right to his/her opinion, the notion that Richard has had a nose job is absurd. If he didn’t have one the moment he began to earn enough money to afford it years ago - when he was so conflicted over his “ugly” nose - why in the world would he do it now, when the great majority of his fans have waxed poetic about their love for it?!!! He has admitted that he is baffled by our love for his aquiline nose. He has also let it be known on more than one occasion that his fans’ opinions are important to him. Why the heck would he have rhinoplasty now that thousands of women have expressed their sexual attraction for him just the way he looks, and have asked him not to have surgery? Please! …and if he were foolish enough to waste his money like that, he’d shorten it, not ask the doctor to make it wider!!!!!! *groan* *off my soapbox*
Plastic surgery or not, what’s really absurd is people thinking that he wouldn’t change something about himself because his fans find it sexy. Never mind what he could possibly think of himself… It’s the fans’ opinions that matter.
Do not put words in my mouth. I am saying it is absurd because if he didn’t change it years ago as soon as he was able to - when we all know that he hates his nose - why would he change it now, when he knows many people find him attractive just the way he is. He can change it whenever he wants; it’s not going to change my opinion of him. He has always done as he well pleases. I’m not the one saying the opinion of his fans matters - HE has said that more than once. I do not speak for him, nor do I have to. I’m not in the habit of putting words in his mouth. Show me the same courtesy. Thank you.
I think he just looks tired in that photo. His nose looks exactly the same!
People do say odd things though - I read somewhere someone saying that he’d had a hair transplant. Really? When??
That was a horrible rollercoaster of an episode tonight. Poor, poor, poor Bennet, and poor Bella. What a shame she couldn’t just resist “Father’s” lure and tell Bennet what had…
I thought the same re: the cult. OK, so they trashed a church and a synagogue and circulated pamphlets in Enochian, which no-one could read (lol wut?)
Then had a big old “drink the Kool-Aid” thing in a condemned house. Like, who’s going to even notice?
Then again, I suppose that cults are, by definition, rather off the wall and nonsensical.
Bella really was portrayed as a complete spineless wimp - I mean, how did she find the strength to leave the cult - and her daughter - but yet be unable to tell Cain to bog off? The female characters in Ripper Street are, on the whole, pretty spineless, aren’t they? Wait - it isn’t written by Steven Moffat, is it?
